Brandy Nuhfer, DVM, earned her degree from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012.
Brandy grew up on a beef cattle, grain and hay farm near Medina, Ohio. She was very active in 4-H for ten years, taking market steer, market lamb, market hog and beef breeding projects. After graduation from Cloverleaf High School in 2003, she obtained an Associate of Science degree in Livestock Science from Ohio State's Agricultural Technical Institute in 2005. Dr. Nuhfer then majored in Animal Sciences at The Ohio State University and graduated in 2007 with her Bachelor’s degree. In 2010, Dr. Nuhfer obtained her Master of Public Health degree from OSU. After graduation, she worked in busy a four doctor mixed animal practice in Loudonville, Ohio for two years, focusing on dairy herd health but also provided services for small animals, sheep, goats and horses as well. Dr. Nuhfer is a member of the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Bovine Practitioners.
Dr. Nuhfer and her husband, Jason reside in Willard on a 115 head Jersey dairy farm, Bar Lee Jerseys. They have a son named Gage and two cats, Hank and Sparkle. In her spare time, Dr. Nuhfer enjoys snow skiing, showing cattle and spending time with her family.
Veronica "Ronie" Meer, DVM, earned her degree from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012.
Dr. Meer grew up in Hamilton, a northern suburb of Cincinnati, where she was active in track, soccer, swimming, and the United States Pony Club. She earned her Bachelors of Science degree in 2006 from Otterbein College.
While there she was an active member of the Pre-Veterinary Medicine Association and Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Fraternity. During undergraduate and graduate school, Dr. Meer worked for Annehurst Veterinary Hospital; a busy, small animal emergency practice in Columbus. She specialized in reproduction technology and overnight emergencies.
She was also very active in Annehurst's rescue program. Dr. Meer was instrumental in helping to rescue over 150 animals after Hurricane Katrina, and the devastating floods in Missouri.
Dr. Meer then practiced Equine and Small Animal medicine at a mixed animal practice in Glenwood, Maryland before returning back to Ohio to be closer to her family. Dr. Meer joined Lakeshore Veterinary Hospital in July 2014.
She is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Association of Equine Practitioners. She has strong interest in equine lameness, sports medicine, complementary veterinary therapies (chiropractic and acupuncture) and dentistry as well as all aspects of small animal veterinary medicine.
In Dr. Meer's free time, she enjoys riding and training her two off-the-track thoroughbreds, Nike and Clyde in Eventing. Having once having competed at the upper levels, she is hoping to return to competing in the future. You may see her running with her dogs Bodie, a German Short-haired Great Dane and Murray, a Heinz 57 or hanging out with her two cats Blaine and Percy.
Ryan R. Zimmerman, DVM, earned his degree from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000.
He was raised in nearby Lindsey, and attended Fremont Ross High School, where he was active in sports, FFA, and 4-H. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Equine Practitioners where he sits on the committee for Infectious Disease, and serves on the Executive Board of the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Zimmerman sees large animals at Westview Veterinary Hospital in Fremont, OH as well as small animals. He has a strong interest in equine lameness and reproduction as well as small animal orthopedic surgery.
Dr. Zimmerman resides in Fremont with his wife, Sarah, twin girls, Lauren and Faith, son, Aidan, dogs , Deacon and Landry, cats, Raven and Jack, and horses. He also attends Lindsey United Methodist Church. In his spare time, he is on the Board of Directors for the Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce, and is a Lieutenant with the Lindsey Volunteer Fire Department where he has been a firefighter and First Responder since 1996.
Mary-Office Manager has been involved with several practices since 1995. In 2010 when Lakeshore Veterinary Hospital was added to the group she came on board helping in any way she can.. Mary lives in Oak Harbor with her husband John, Bearded Collie Oliver and cats Thor and Oscar.
Jil - Receptionist, came to us from Dr. Brent's office where she was the receptionist since January, 2006. She has her Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education and has extensive experience in customer service. Jil lives in Sandusky with her husband, Bruce and their retired racing greyhound, Shawna.
Kari - Veterinary Assistant was hired to Lakeshore Veterinary Hospital in Nov. 2013. She graduated from Michigan Sate University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Zoology. Kari had previously spent most of her time working with exotic animals in zoos until moving to Sandusky. Outside of the office, Kari enjoys seeking thrills at amusement parks and traveling to tropical locations. Kari and her husband Matt have a cat Smokey, but look forward to getting a dog when they buy their first home.
Adrienne - Registered Veterinary Technician was hired at Lakeshore Veterinary Hospital in December. She comes with 10+ years of experience in the field. Most recently she worked in a busy hospital in Phoenix, Arizona where she was the head technician. Adrienne graduated from Otterbein College (she was Dr. Meer’s classmate!) with a degree in Equine Science, and Columbus State with an associates in Veterinary Technology. She has three beautiful children- Lane, Layla, & Aj. She also has a little terrier-mix dog, Scrappy, a stray who was found in the streets of Phoenix. She hopes to own horses again when her children are older. She loves to spend time at the gym, and watch Ohio State Football.
Leandra - Registered Veterinary Technician, was hired at Lakeshore Veterinary Hospital in February of 2017. Leandra graduated from Brown Mackie College with an Associate of the Applied Science degree as a Veterinary Technician. At home, Leandra enjoys the company of her four dogs, cat, turtle, hedgehog, and three beta fish.
